Mini Logging Tool
A Mini Logging Tool (MLT) is a compact version of a Production Logging Tool (PLT) designed to perform basic well logging operations in wells where space or access is limited. It is specifically developed to operate through small-diameter tubing or restricted wellbores while still providing essential downhole production data.
Mini Logging Tools typically measure pressure, temperature, and sometimes basic flow characteristics, allowing operators to evaluate well performance without requiring larger production logging tool strings. Due to their reduced size and simplified sensor configuration, they can be deployed using slickline, wireline, or coiled tubing, making them suitable for quick diagnostics and monitoring in producing wells.
It is designed to be a modular tool, with three main modules being:
- Resistant Temperature Detector (RTD)
- Casing Collar Locator (CCL)
- Pressure/Temperature Flow Module
Applications
- Production Logging
- Leak Detection
- Depth Correlation
